Job summary

Tallmadge City Schools is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support for students under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse. The role includes taking vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, and documenting in the school medical record.

Responsibilities cover preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering medications as directed, and performing routine office duties.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program is required.
• BLS training from the American Heart Association is required.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patients and families at Akron Children's Hospitals.
• Prepares patients for examination; records vital signs and may perform phlebotomy.
• Administers medications as directed by Providers per policy.
• Document care accurately in the school medical record.
• Cleans, stocks, and prepares examination rooms; supports routine office tasks.
