Job summary

AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Paraprofessional / Health Aide to provide clerical support and assist the school nurse with illness-related duties. The role supports ESSER initiatives and requires strong office skills in a dynamic campus environment.

The position is classified hourly, 29.5 hours per week, for a 10-month term, with sign-on compensation after 90 days of employment. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred, and a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic office procedures and common office equipment.
• Proficient typing and phone skills; knowledge of word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service for students, staff, and families.
• Assist leadership with clerical duties to support ESSER initiatives.
• Support nurse office with illness tracking, parent communications, and medication administration when needed.
• Maintain visitor log and assist with office supply orders and inventory.
• Assist secretaries and operate office equipment; call service technicians as needed.
• Maintain student information in records systems and relay messages to staff.
