Job summary

The Paideia Academy, Inc. seeks a School Health Aide to support students’ health and well-being under the direction of a nurse or qualified professional. Primary duties include basic first aid, medication administration, health record maintenance, and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CPR and First Aid certifications, and an Arizona IVPP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience with children is preferred, and the role is full-time for a 10-month schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid and care for minor injuries and illnesses.

• Monitor health or behavior changes and report to the school nurse.
• Maintain health records with confidentiality.
• Assist with health screenings and immunization records.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, nurses, and admins.
• Follow emergency procedures during medical situations.

FULL TIME/ 10-MONTH

School Health Aide supports students’ health and well-being during the school day under the direction of a school nurse or other qualified healthcare professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid and care for minor injuries and illnesses.
• Assist students who have health conditions, disabilities, or special medical needs.
• Administer medications according to school policies and authorized instructions.
• Monitor students for changes in health or behavior and report concerns to the school nurse or appropriate staff.
• Assist in maintaining accurate health and medical records while protecting student confidentiality.
• Assist with health screenings, immunization records, and other school health activities.
• Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, teachers, school nurses, and administrators.
• Follow emergency procedures and assist during medical emergencies.
• Support a safe and healthy school environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children is preferred
• Previous experiences in healthcare is advantageous
• Current CPR Certification required
• Current First Aid Certification required
• Valid Arizona IVPP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
