I3 INFOTEK INC. seeks Health Aides to support Preschool-12 SPED students in an onsite setting in Oro Valley, AZ.

The role runs about 7.5 months with a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, serving under teachers and staff to assist with educational activities and daily living skills. Candidates should be comfortable with deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired students; ASL and Braille skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree, 60 college credits, or valid Paraprofessional Certification.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/BLS certification.
  • Current Arizona Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain Crisis Intervention Training within required timeframe.
  • Ability to pass FBI and State background checks.
  • Ability to meet agency security and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with instructional objectives, behavioral strategies, and IEP goals.
  • Tutor and support students in academic subjects, daily living skills, social skills, and other activities.
  • Provide support in both individual and group settings.
  • Monitor students while using classroom and other equipment to help maintain safety.
  • Observe, document, and maintain student records according to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Assist students with lifting, toileting, feeding, hygiene, and other personal-care needs as required.
  • Transport students to and from activities or appointments when necessary.
  • Support students with disabilities in classroom and school activities.
  • Assist with behavioral management strategies under teacher/staff guidance.
  • Use augmentative communication and assistive technology (AT) as appropriate.
  • Operate basic office and classroom equipment.
  • Participate in required training, workshops, and professional-development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Seeking Health Aides to support students in the Preschool-12 Special Education Department (SPED). The Health Aide will work under the direction of teachers and school staff to assist students with educational activities, behavioral strategies, daily living skills, personal care, and other classroom and student-support needs.

Candidates should be comfortable working with students who may be deaf/hard of hearing and/or blind/visually impaired. ASL skills are preferred when supporting deaf or hard-of-hearing students, and Braille skills are relevant when supporting students who are blind or visually impaired.

  • Associate Degree OR completion of 60 college credit hours OR valid Paraprofessional Certification.

Important: A CNA certification alone does not replace the education requirement. A CNA candidate may be submitted only if they also have an Associate Degree, 60 college credit hours, or valid Paraprofessional Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • American Sign Language (ASL) skills for working with students/staff who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Braille skills for working with students who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs or disabilities.
  • Experience with behavioral strategies, assistive technology, or augmentative communication.

Physical & Functional Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift.
  • Ability to assist students with mobility and personal-care needs.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to student needs and safety concerns.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
