Job summary

Lubbock Independent School District seeks a school Counselor to collaborate with faculty, students, parents and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive guidance program at school assigned. Counsel students to fully develop each student's academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special populations students.

The Counselor reports to the Principal and works as part of the PreK-12 department within the district.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance counseling and state certification requirements.
• Strong knowledge of school counseling procedures and programs.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and families.

Responsibilities

• Teach campus developmental guidance curriculum aligned with district plan.
• Counsel individual students and small groups with present needs.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators to support students.
• Participate in planning and evaluation of campus testing and programs.
• Develop and maintain documentation of reports, records, and activities.
• Collaborate to educate staff and community about the guidance program.
