Job summary

Bland County Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Worker/Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor spaces, athletic grounds, landscaping, and related facilities across all properties. Primary duties include mowing, landscaping, equipment operation, and assisting with building maintenance as needed.

This full-time, non-exempt position requires the ability to work outside in varied weather, perform snow and ice removal, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in groundskeeping or related fields preferred.
• Equivalent education/experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Mows and trims grass at schools and facilities.
• Operates lawn equipment (mowers, weed eaters, etc.).
• Prunes and maintains plants and landscaped areas.
• Inspects grounds for hazards and reports issues.
• Performs snow and ice removal when needed.
• Assists with building repairs and custodial tasks as required.
