Job summary

West Ada School District is seeking a Food Technician to support our school cafeteria operations. The role involves preparing and serving meals, handling cashiering duties, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines. This part-time position offers daytime hours within the school calendar and supports other food service

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operation of standard and specialized kitchen equipment.
• Health and safety procedures relating to food preparation and sanitation.
• Operation of a cash machine and office computer.
• Basic math, accounting and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Performs cashiering duties including entering customer transactions, handling cash, balancing cash drawer.
• Prepares food within an established system following standardized recipes, preparation and serving methods to ensure customer acceptance.
• Prepares and serves food items using required tools such as knives, spoons, dippers.
• Operates standard and specialized kitchen equipment such as mixer, slicer, dishwasher, oven, and related equipment.
• Maintains required forms and records as assigned.
• Attends approved training classes.
• Follows sanitation, safety, and equipment care standards.
• Performs other related duties as required.
