Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Customer service oriented and organized.
• Enjoy working with PreK-12 students.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Basics of USDA Food Service Requirements.
• Competency in SNAP Computer Food Service System.
• Attend workshops for certification and ongoing training.
• Comfort operating ovens, stoves, dishwashers; maintain sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Organize or supervise service areas and food items.
• Prepare food service tools and maintain utensils and equipment.
• Prepare foods and portion items as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment like ovens and dishwashers.
• Control site food and supply costs with proper storage.
• Maintain good relations with students, families, staff and community.
• Handle deposits or cash for meals and complete daily reconciliations.
• Set a friendly tone and ensure sanitation and safety standards.
• Coordinate staff schedules across sites.
• Communicate with each site to manage inventory and orders.
