Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools seeks a School Business Analyst to perform school-level business services, including payroll processing and maintaining student activity accounts in ALIO. The role requires careful bookkeeping, adherence to procedures, and strong documentation practices.

The position supports the Business Services department, with responsibilities spanning monthly reconciliations, reports, and cross-training with other staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business Administration and one year of meaningful bookkeeping experience OR 6 hours of college level Accounting courses and three years of meaningful bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Access, Word, etc.
• Proficiency in using a 10-key.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the established chart of accounts for all transactions in student activity accounts and the ALIO system.
• Prepare cash receipts and document reasons for cash; make daily bank deposits.
• Post cash receipts to the accounting system daily/weekly; obtain approval for invoice payments.
• Establish and maintain detailed cash receipts data to support deposits and invoices.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and reports for the Supervisor.
