Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across school facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and outdoor areas, as well as minor equipment maintenance and reporting repairs.

The role requires punctual attendance, the ability to work with staff, parents, and students, and the willingness to participate in required trainings post-employment. Previous custodial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Required WCPSS trainings which will be provided post-employment.
• Experience in custodial work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of entire school/facility including floors, restrooms, windows, and outdoor walkways.
• Moves and arranges furniture as needed.
• Performs minor maintenance on custodial equipment and reports repairs or safety concerns.
• Opens/closes buildings at start/end of workdays and ensures security.
• Responds to after-hour emergencies and inclement weather as required.
