Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Wichita seeks a Custodian to maintain a safe, clean, and inviting environment across school and parish facilities. This role collaborates closely with staff and administration and reports to the Principal and Pastor.

Essential duties include daily security checks, extensive cleaning, floor care, graffiti removal, setup for meetings, snow removal, and light maintenance. Experience in building maintenance is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at the beginning and end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairs, and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstery, blinds, walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Set up and break down chairs, tables and equipment for meetings.
• Clear snow from entrances and walks and spread ice-melting chemicals.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and maintain grounds.
• Receive deliveries and distribute supplies to classrooms and other areas.
• Empty wastebaskets and assist in recycling.
