Job summary

Jonathan Alder Local School District in Delaware, Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems. This full-time role reports to the Director of Operations and requires good technical skills and reliability.

You will work 260 days per year per salary schedule, handle work orders, supervise events setup, and coordinate with custodial staff and outside contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining school facilities or similar environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional maintenance training preferred.
• Self-motivated with ability to address varied maintenance issues.
• Demonstrates strong ethics and takes responsibility for actions.
• Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear criminal background check suitable for public school employment.
• Ability to use relevant technology, equipment, and systems as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, and other systems.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, faucets, toilets, valves, and drains.
• Complete scheduled HVAC filter changes and assist with small HVAC repairs.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and failures.
• Respond to maintenance work orders and prioritize tasks by urgency and safety.
• Assist with event setup/teardown and seasonal maintenance.
• Coordinate with custodial staff, administrators, and contractors as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
• Ensure compliance with district policies, safety standards, and codes.
• Participate in on-call rotation or emergency response as required.
• Assist with minor construction, renovations, and facility improvements.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
• Daily upkeep and preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment.
