Job summary

Theiwsgrp is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to support the Facilities Department at Newark, NJ 07102. The role involves general repairs, preventative maintenance, and routine upkeep throughout the school's facilities.

This full-time, on-site position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, and pay between $18.00 and $19.00 per hour with Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience with carpentry, painting, and sheetrock.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with maintenance staff, management, and outside contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and sheetrock repairs.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance.
• Install and repair equipment and appliances.
• Identify and address facility maintenance needs.
• Report completed and outstanding work to the Facilities Manager.
• Work alongside maintenance staff and outside contractors as needed.
• Respond to maintenance issues throughout the property.
• Maintain a safe and functional environment throughout the school facilities.
