Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks a Facilities Serviceperson to maintain school buildings in Deerfield Beach. You will perform cleaning, waxing floors, restocking supplies, and basic repairs while following safety rules.

The role requires ability to lift heavy objects, operate floor care equipment, and work well with staff. Training leading to certification is provided during probation.

Qualifications

• Basic Facilities Service training program and certification within probationary period.
• Ability to perform custodial work.
• Operate scrubbing machines and vacuums in school environments.
• Heavy lifting and climbing ladders to replace bulbs and filters.
• Follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Work well with others and use basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean cafeterias, restrooms, offices, gym, halls and other areas to custodial standards.
• Empty trash, move debris to dumpsters and dispose properly.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors and maintain surfaces.
• Replace light bulbs and clean fixtures; maintain equipment.
• Move furniture and transport items as needed.
• Follow safety rules and report maintenance needs.
