Job summary

Qualifications

• Must complete Basic Facilities Service training program and obtain Basic Facilities Service certification within probationary period.
• Must be able to perform custodial work and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to operate shampoo and scrubbing machines, wet and dry vacuums and other heavy labor-saving devices in schools.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects, climb ladders to replace lights and filters.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English and work with others.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas assigned (cafeteria, restrooms, offices, gymnasium, halls) per custodial standards.
• Empty trash and dispose of debris; move garbage to dumpster.
• Sweep, mop, strip and wax floors and related surfaces.
• Replace bulbs and clean fixtures; maintain and replace filters.
• Receive and store supplies; inform supervisor of needs and call work orders as directed.
