Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is seeking Facility Service Workers to perform general cleaning and routine maintenance in district facilities for the 2026-2027 school year.

This 12-month, 40-hour-per-week position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and offers benefits after 30 days of employment. The starting pay is at least $19.18 per hour, with opportunities to operate a range of cleaning equipment in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• General housekeeping and cleaning techniques knowledge.
• Ability to operate a wide variety of cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups and work with the public.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
• Ability to perform physical activity and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust mop, wet mop hallways, floors and stairs; seal/wax floors; vacuum carpets.
• Clean washroom walls, floors, tiles and fixtures; replenish supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and move trash; transport supplies as needed.
• Set up, disassemble, move tables/chairs and equipment.
• Clean drains and toilets; wash walls and furniture.
• Remove snow/ice; spread sand and salt.
• Mow and trim grassy areas; dust furniture and surfaces.
• Replace light bulbs and fixtures; patch windows.
• Lock and secure building.
