Job summary

KIPP New Orleans Schools is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Associate to perform skilled maintenance on KNOS buildings, grounds, and equipment. You will work under supervision with School Operations Leaders to ensure safe, efficient operation of facilities across campuses.

The role emphasizes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks, along with safety compliance, event support, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4+ years in general building maintenance or a primary trade.
• Knowledge of basic building systems and safety practices.
• Ability to work flexible schedule and use hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
• Complete daily walkthroughs and respond to maintenance tickets promptly.
• Coordinate with supervisor and vendors to ensure timely task completion.
• Maintain records of work orders, inventory, and inspections.
• Assist in setup/breakdown of events and move furniture as needed.
