Job summary

KIPP New Orleans Schools (KNOS) is seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform skilled maintenance on school facilities, grounds, and equipment. Under supervision, you will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and safety tasks to ensure safe, functional learning environments.

You will complete regular walkthroughs, respond to repair tickets, manage records, assist with events, and coordinate with supervisors and external vendors. This is a full-time, on-site role in New Orleans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4+ years general building maintenance or a primary trade (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Knowledge of basic building systems and safety protocols.
• Experience with CMMS and inventory/parts logs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
• Complete daily facility walkthroughs and address issues promptly.
• Respond to maintenance tickets and prioritize to meet response/resolution targets.
• Coordinate with supervisors and vendors for specialized repairs.
• Assist in setup/breakdown of school events and maintain records.
