Job summary

KIPP New Orleans Schools is seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform skilled trades in our school facilities. Under supervision, you will handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained buildings and grounds that support teaching and learning.

You will complete daily walkthroughs, respond to tickets, coordinate with supervisors, assist with events, and support custodial and grounds tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4+ years general building maintenance or a primary trade (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Basic building systems knowledge; hand/power tool safety; PPE; LOTO awareness.
• Proficiency with email/sheets for communication and inventory/logs; flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
• Complete daily facility walkthroughs and respond to tickets with prioritized timeframes.
• Inspect facilities weekly; complete NolaPS inspections and quarterly roof checks.
• Assist in setup/breakdown of events; maintain records and coordinate with supervisor and vendors.
• Support custodial and grounds duties; operate safely and track work orders.
