Job summary

KNOS, the KIPP New Orleans Schools facilities team, seeks a Maintenance Associate to perform skilled maintenance on school buildings and grounds. Under supervision, you will maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks, ensuring safe and optimal operation of facilities.

The role emphasizes proactive inspections, work-order management, and collaboration with school staff to support a conducive teaching environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4+ years general building maintenance or a primary trade experience.
• Basic building systems knowledge and safety awareness (LOTO, PPE).
• Experience using work orders, inventory logs, and basic CMMS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and general repairs.
• Complete daily facility walkthroughs and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Respond to tickets, prioritize tasks, and maintain records of activities.
