Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to perform cleaning, maintenance, and related tasks in school facilities as part of the Talent Pool for the 2026-27 cycle. The role involves working inside and outside the buildings under varying time constraints and with diverse groups of staff.

The position pays $18 per hour per diem, contingent on funding, and EEO statements apply. Reports to the School Principal, Head Custodian, and Custodial Manager.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, and equipment used in large public buildings.
• High School Diploma is acceptable.
• Knowledge of simple maintenance and repair work and the materials and tools required.
• Ability to understand the relationship between a clean and healthy environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
• Ability to understand and carry out direct instructions.
• Must be able to work within difficult time constraints and under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• This position performs manual cleaning, maintenance, repair, storage, and furniture moving tasks both inside and outside the building.
