Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a School/Campus Facilities Specialist in Camden to keep the high school clean, safe, and well-maintained. This hands-on role covers custodial duties, maintenance planning, and vendor oversight to support a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, inspections, PM work orders, and coordinating with vendors. Required are 2+ years in facilities in schools and a Black Seal license; bilingual Spanish and OSHA 30 are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of custodial, maintenance or facilities management experience in a school setting.
• Black Seal boiler license (preferred) and equivalent school-based experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Proficiency with power tools, facility equipment and general carpentry work.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of interior and exterior spaces following standards.
• Address accidents, spills, and urgent maintenance promptly.
• Inspect buildings and grounds daily and address issues timely.
• Oversee lunchroom setup and event support; manage work orders (PM and compliance).
• Lead and manage small capital and preventative maintenance projects.
• Coordinate annual inspections for facility systems and ensure life-safety compliance.
• Manage facility vendors and QA of contracted services; assist with quotes and invoices.
