Job summary

Sylvania in Canyon, TX is seeking a Maintenance Painter to prepare, paint, and maintain interior and exterior surfaces across school district facilities, including educational buildings and athletic spaces.

You will patch drywall, apply coatings, maintain tools and inventory, and follow OSHA safety protocols; valid driver’s license required for campus travel, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of painting experience.
• Valid driver’s license required for traveling between campuses.
• Physical ability to climb ladders/scaffolding, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
• Clear state/federal background check and child safety clearance.

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Patch drywall, strip old paint, sand surfaces, clean walls, and repair masonry or woodwork prior to painting.
• Application: Apply paints, stains, primers, sealers, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and power sprayers.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA and safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (paints, solvents, lead/asbestos safety standards).
• Equipment & Inventory Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, spray rigs, scaffolding, and ladders; track paint stock and supply inventory.
• Specialized Projects: Paint parking lot lines, sports court markings, window frames, doors, and exterior trim during scheduled breaks or after hours to minimize disruption to instructional time.
