Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Building Services / Custodial Manager for South Lake Elementary School in Gaithersburg. Under direction, you manage the school plant, building operations, and grounds, ensuring sanitary, safety, and security standards while supervising custodial staff.

The role requires emergency response availability, overtime or night work may be required, uniforms are provided, and employees must report to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of methods, materials, and practices used in building service work.
• Operate and maintain custodial and grounds care equipment including scrubbers, burnishers, snow blowers and hydraulic lift.
• Manage human and material resources to ensure quality service and a safe environment.
• Maintain records of time and materials and prepare routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school plant, building operations, and property/grounds.
• Supervise building service staff and coordinate with supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies and implement safety procedures as required.
• Use computer tools to order supplies and process work orders.
