Job summary

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy seeks a Facilities Director to oversee campus facilities, lead maintenance, custodial, and transportation teams, and ensure safe, clean, well-maintained buildings and grounds. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organization, communication, and problem-solving, working with school leadership, vendors, and service providers to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, operations, transportation, or custodial services.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience in school/educational/nonprofit environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of all school buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules; coordinate repairs and projects.
• Monitor building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, life safety).
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; review quotes and purchases.
• Maintain records of drills, maintenance, inspections, warranties, and services.
