Job summary

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy is seeking dependable, service-oriented individuals to join the Operations Team and support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of our K–12 campus. This hands-on role involves maintenance, custodial services, grounds support, transportation readiness, and event setup to ensure operational readiness for teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license or ability to obtain.
• Ability to pass background checks and screenings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Basic familiarity with tools, equipment, and facility operations.
• Experience in facility maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, or building operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Maintain cleanliness in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; perform floor care and waste removal.
• Maintain campus grounds: mowing, trimming, debris removal, safety inspections.
• Assist with transportation readiness and support routes, field trips, and events; operate vehicles if licensed.
• Help monitor safety, drills, and emergency equipment; support safety procedures.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for school events, athletics, and activities.
