Job summary

Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services in Columbus, OH is hiring a facilities maintenance technician for permanent, full-time work. You will perform skilled repairs on buildings, equipment, doors, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and grounds upkeep.

Typical hours are 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation starts at $21.48 per hour, with safety procedures followed and opportunities to drive school vehicles and support cross-campus operations.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and reading/writing English; 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in maintenance or repairs such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled or semi-skilled repairs to buildings, equipment and wooden structures (doors, windows, walls, woodwork, floors, partitions, spot roofing, security devices, locks, HVAC, kitchen equipment).
• Repair electrical problems (lighting, switches, outlets, motors, circuits).
• Repair plumbing problems (water lines, fittings, fixtures, pumps, sinks, toilets, faucets, piping, drains); boilers if licensed.
