Job summary

Burr Oak Community School District is seeking a dedicated, highly dependable Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning, custodial care, groundskeeping, and maintenance of all district facilities. The ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision, uphold high safety standards, and lead routine upkeep across campus.

The role requires strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain operations with reliability during varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, cleaning operations, building maintenance, or groundskeeping; supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven attendance, reliability, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor (lifting 100 lbs+), standing for extended periods, and working in varied weather.
• Excellent health, high moral character, professional integrity, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Background check clearance (State/FBI fingerprinting) as required by district policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning protocols across classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and athletic facilities.
• Safely handle, store, and apply cleaning chemicals per SDS standards; operate industrial cleaning equipment.
• Operate groundskeeping equipment and perform lawn and winter maintenance as needed.
• Perform light maintenance, repairs, and routine building checks.
• Lead independently with initiative and manage daily needs with minimal supervision.
• Support school events and maintain a positive school community environment.
