Job summary

Sycamore School District is seeking a Maintenance Repair Person - Building & Grounds to maintain safe, functional facilities supporting student learning and staff needs. The role covers plumbing, carpentry, electrical and general repairs while ensuring a secure school environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and experience with tools and district maintenance operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience with operating motor vehicles and general hand tools is required.
HVAC/Refrigeration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting of building systems.
Provides a safe and secure school environment.
Performs snow and ice removal as applicable.
Performs lawn care including landscaping and mulching.
Assists custodians with school activities during the day as applicable/required.
Maintains sporting fields including fence repair.
Performs roof repair work as applicable.
Assists in setting up sporting events.
Picks up and delivers supplies, furniture and equipment within the district as applicable.
Maintains good relationships with contractors, vendors and service personnel.
Sorts, delivers and collects inter-office mail.
Assists other staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of the school.
Keeps up-to-date knowledge of technology used by the district.
