Job summary

Verona Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Head Custodian to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of F. N. Brown Elementary School. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a welcoming environment for students and staff.

The Head Custodian will supervise staff, develop cleaning schedules, monitor supplies, and collaborate with administration on special cleaning projects and safety compliance. This is a full-time position on site.

Qualifications

• Leadership and supervision experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate custodial staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation.
• Clean and maintain classrooms, restrooms, hallways and common areas to established standards.
• Develop cleaning schedules and safety procedures for a hygienic environment.
• Monitor supplies and equipment, order replenishments as needed.
• Conduct facility inspections to ensure safety compliance and reporting.
• Address custodial issues and concerns from staff, students or parents.
• Plan and execute special cleaning projects with administration during events or seasons.
• Maintain records of work performed, supplies used and staff attendance.
• Provide training on cleaning best practices and maintenance.
• Promote a positive, respectful work environment within the school community.
