Job summary

Sioux City Community School District is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair district facilities, respond to emergencies, and support grounds, athletic fields, and buildings.

You will operate equipment, perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, follow safety rules, and obtain required licenses (CDL, pesticide, forklift, backflow) as noted. This role is based in Sioux City, IA and requires reliability and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience or training may be required.
• Possession of CDL Class A license and pesticide application license; forklift and backflow licenses may be required.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret safety rules and operate maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school district property and equipment; respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Install and repair fixtures, equipment, and concrete surfaces; operate scaffolding and lifts.
• Perform grounds work, landscaping, snow removal, and basic custodial tasks as required.
• Read and follow MSDS, confined space, and lockout/tagout procedures; use time-tracking and work order systems.
