Job summary

The Orrick School District R11 Central Office in Orrick, Missouri is seeking a Substitute Custodian to perform custodial duties, minor maintenance, and related tasks to keep school facilities healthy, safe, attractive, and sanitary.

Starting immediately, this hourly, non-exempt position involves cleaning, restocking supplies, and assisting with events, with adherence to district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Be able to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under little supervision
• Time management skills

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties, minor maintenance, and related tasks to keep buildings clean, healthy, safe, attractive and sanitary.
• Maintain confidentiality of schools, teachers, students, and classrooms.
• Promote a positive image of the district within the community.
• Comply with all school policies.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Perform major cleaning tasks (vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, trash handling, disinfecting surfaces).
• Restock soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
• Assist in setup for meetings, classrooms, and events and return furniture as needed.
• Assist in safety and operational responses to issues.
• Monitor areas to prevent injuries and ensure building safety.
• Assist in deliveries and distribution of items.
• Secure facilities to minimize damage and liability.
• Support custodial activities with maintenance as needed.
