Job summary

Forsyth R-III School District seeks a Substitute Custodian to help maintain clean and safe facilities at the Central Office in Forsyth, Missouri. This role supports daily district operations and may require coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include trash removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, window cleaning, and assisting with occasional custodial tasks such as snow removal and moving furniture. Prior custodian experience and good physical condition are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Good physical condition and strength.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap).
• Wipe mirrors and windows.
• Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.).
