Job summary

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work after hours or on weekends, and the capacity to read plans and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under applicable Alabama laws.
• Demonstrated maintenance and cleaning knowledge.
• Ability to read and follow plans and instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and work with others as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system's vision and priorities.
• Provides safe, healthy environments for students and staff.

• Performs custodial tasks balancing operations and preventive services.
• Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors according to schedules.
• Operates equipment safely and cares for grounds, plants, and fixtures.
• Stores, uses, and disposes of chemicals safely per procedures.
• Delivers supplies to offices and classrooms.
• Moves and rearranges furniture as directed.
• Ensures facilities meet industry standards for safety and sanitation.
• Assists in grounds-keeping and outdoor maintenance per schedule.
• Inspects buildings/grounds for safety hazards and reports needs.
