Job summary

Diocese of Allentown is seeking a Facility Custodian/Maintenance Worker for St. Jane Frances de Chantal School in Easton, PA. The role focuses on custodial duties, basic maintenance, and ensuring a clean, safe school environment for students and staff.

Hours are part-time with early mornings and occasional after-hours coverage. The position requires attention to safety, reliability, and the ability to perform physical tasks and simple repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• At least 5 years' experience in maintenance and cleaning/janitorial duties.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with administration, faculty, staff, students and parents.
• Must be self-motivated and prompt, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Thorough understanding of custodial methods, chemicals, equipment and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Must be on-call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare school facilities for daily operations and ensure safety and operability.
• Secure facilities and grounds to protect occupants and property; monitor entrances/exits.
• Light cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, halls and common areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Set up and break down for meetings, classes, events and special occasions; assist with event cleanup.
• Perform basic maintenance like painting, plumbing, electrical work, changing bulbs and filter replacements.
• Respond to emergencies and unsafe conditions; follow safety procedures.
