Job summary

Cullman City Schools is seeking a Custodian(s) to maintain clean classrooms, hallways, offices, and grounds, including lawn care, to provide a safe, sanitary, and habitable environment for students, staff, and the community.

Work requires basic custodial duties, physical task capability, and use of equipment. Reports to the Principal or Immediate Supervisor; 240 days per year, 8 hours per day, with the salary schedule C8-12.

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience in custodial duties.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, climbing.
• Experience using cleaning equipment and lawn maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean classrooms, hallways, offices, facilities, and grounds, including lawn care.
• Performs minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs,HV/AC filters, etc.).
• Consults with principal regarding equipment needs and repairs.
• Moves equipment or other school assets as needed.
• Assists with event/set-ups and supports faculty and staff as required.
• Exhibits professional conduct and positive relations with staff and students.
• Maintains records and reports as required.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Engages in professional growth and upholds ethics.
• Keeps necessary certifications through workshops and training.
• Acts cooperatively with school leadership and personnel.
• Demonstrates clear written and oral communication.
• Attends required meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
