Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of custodial experience.
• Background clearance as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plans work schedules with supervisor to ensure adequate service.
• Inspects and evaluates physical condition of the work location.
• Recommends painting, repairs, furnishings, or relocation of equipment.
• Suggests custodial supplies and maintains inventory.
• Investigates new cleaning instruments and methods.
• Operates and maintains cleaning machines as needed.
• Performs minor maintenance as assigned by supervisor.
• Cleans and maintains buildings and grounds using standard methods.
• Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Participates in in-service training programs as required.
• Assists other custodians or redirects tasks as needed.
• Assumes other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
