Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking a Custodian I at multiple locations to maintain cleanliness of facilities and grounds. Starting pay is $16.76 per hour for a 220-day schedule and includes responsibilities like moving furniture, trash removal, and basic maintenance under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor.

The role covers classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and common areas, with duties such as floor stripping and waxing, window cleaning, and coordinating setup for events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work with school personnel and maintain inventory.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs stripping and waxing of floors.
• Cleans corridors and removes trash from carpet.
• Disinfects bathroom floors and fixtures daily.
• Sweeps and mops lunchrooms; clean classrooms and offices.
• Cleans windows inside and out at least twice yearly.
• Requisitions supplies as needed to perform duties.
• Maintains parking lots and reports repairs to supervisor.
• Operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning agents as directed.
