Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Alabama driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces; indoors/outdoors year-round in noisy, crowded environments.
• Demonstrated skills using standard custodial tools, materials, methods, and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plans for custodial projects.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends, or holidays if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide a clean work and learning environment at the school.
• Perform campus-wide general maintenance and repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
• Balance operation and preventative custodial services for the school.
• Scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors per schedule.
• Use safety equipment and handle chemicals per procedures.
• Deliver supplies to offices and classrooms.
• Move and arrange furniture as directed.
• Inspect buildings and grounds for safety hazards.
• Perform emergency custodial duties per procedures.
• Paint building structures and maintain surfaces.
