Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in custodial work preferred.
• Meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building security and grounds around entryways.
• Clean, sweep, mop floors (wet and dry).
• Clean and restock restrooms and fixtures.
• Clean classrooms and offices; vacuum, dust furniture and machines.
• Clean windows and remove debris from buildings.
• Buff/strip/refinish hard floors during summer schedule.
• Shampoo carpets when assigned.
• Provide emergency cleanup for spills.
• Report maintenance needs to office personnel.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment as needed.
• Set up events and assist faculty when directed.
• Follow supervisor schedules and perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in training and cross-training programs.
