Job summary

Campbell County Schools is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and well‑kept school facilities. Responsibilities include opening/closing the building, daily cleaning, grounds upkeep, basic repairs, and assisting with security and weekend checks.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and work after hours as needed. The role requires experience in custodial services, knowledge of cleaning equipment, independence, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with school custodial services or the equivalent in custodial services in other institutions and/or firms.
• Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Physically agile and dexterous.
• Available to work after hours.
• Excellent Organizational skills.
• Proficient knowledge of basic maintenance repairs.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the building each school day and ensure doors/windows are secured and lights off.
• Raise the United States flag at/before 8:00 am and lower at/after 3:30 pm.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in facilities.
• Follow cleaning procedures and policies as directed.
• Carry out scheduled cleaning and preventative maintenance on building equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (toilets, fixtures, floors) daily and manage waste.
• Maintain school grounds (grass cutting, tree trimming, sidewalks etc.).
• Make minor repairs and report major repairs to the principal.
• Clean windows inside and out at least twice per year.
• Be available to assist in other areas and in other custodians.
• Assist with building security and visitor support.
• Remain on site during school hours and be available after hours if needed.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Occasional split shifts or weekend work may be required.
