Job summary

Oldham County Schools is seeking a reliable Custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities across assigned buildings. This hourly position supports daily operations and requires an 8-hour shift on a 260-day contract.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms; reporting major repairs; and ensuring doors, fixtures, and equipment are properly stored. Must have a high school diploma and a valid driver's license; lifting up to 40 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.

Responsibilities

• Keeps buildings and premises neat and clean according to the operator's schedule.
• Shovels, plows or sands/salts walks as directed by the operator.
• Cleans classrooms, dusts furniture and chalkboards according to schedule.
• Cleans corridors after school and during the day as scheduled.
• Cleans and disinfects toilets and fixtures daily.
• Washes windows inside and outside at least twice yearly.
• Clears debris from roofs, gutters and downspouts as needed.
• Keeps floors clean and well-preserved according to schedule.
• Reports major repairs to the School Plant Operator.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the operator.
• Removes garbage and handles equipment properly.
