Job summary

Campbell County Schools is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and well-kept school facilities. The role includes opening/closing the building, basic cleaning, grounds maintenance, and responding to building needs during and after school hours.

Responsibilities cover operating equipment, performing routine repairs, ensuring doors and windows are secured, and assisting with security checks. The position may require weekend and after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with school custodial services or equivalent in custodial services elsewhere.
• Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Physically agile and dexterous.
• Available to work after hours.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient knowledge of basic maintenance repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for opening/closing the building and ensures doors/windows secured and lights off.
• Raises the United States flag at/before 8:00 am, lowers at/after 3:30 pm.
• Maintain cleanliness to provide a healthy, safe, attractive environment.
• Follow recommended cleaning procedures/policies.
• Carry out scheduled cleaning duties and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks (toilets, fixtures, floors, garbage, etc.).
• Maintain grounds with yard-keeping and snow/ice/sidewalk duties.
• Make minor building repairs as capable and report major repairs promptly.
• Wash windows inside and out at least biannually.
• Be available to assist in other areas/custodians, assist with building security, visitors, and groups.
• Remain on premises during school hours and be available if needed outside hours.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs daily and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Flexible for split shifts or weekend work; respond to weekend checks and emergencies.
