Job summary

Idaho Falls School District 91 is seeking a Regular Custodian to maintain safe, clean school facilities. The role reports to the Head Custodian and supports daily classroom and hall cleaning, maintenance of floors, windows, and restrooms, and general grounds upkeep.

The position runs 8 hours per day, 254 days per year, with at-will employment terms and a wage scale of $16.39–$17.19 per hour, depending on degree or experience. This on-site role requires reliability and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Read and write at a minimum 9th grade level.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
• Capable of lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Previous experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Board may accept alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning as needed for comfort and efficiency.
• Shovels, plows, and sands walks and driveways as appropriate.
• Checks exit doors and panic bolts during building occupancy.
• Sweeps and vacuums classrooms daily; dusts furniture.
• Cleans corridors after school and as needed during the day.
• Disinfects bathroom floors daily and cleans fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Washes windows as assigned by Head Custodian.
