Job summary

Eastern Suffolk BOCES is seeking a School Custodial Supervisor (provisional) for the Barton Avenue Armory, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. You will direct and supervise Chief Custodians, Head Custodians, Supervisors, Night Supervisors, and Custodial Workers, ensuring safe, clean facilities across the campuses.

The assignment follows UPSEU contractual guidelines with a starting salary of $91,629. A valid NYS Driver’s License is required, and eligibility for Civil Service appointment; start date ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience directing and supervising custodial staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the work of Chief Custodians, Head Custodians, Supervisors, Night Supervisors, and Custodial Workers.
• Manage building HVAC, building controls, fire & security panel conditions, and coordinate vendor support.
• Oversee compliance of agency-wide fire safety inspections, including kitchen grease exhaust and fire extinguisher maintenance and repair.
• Direct, in coordination with an interview committee, the screening and selection of candidates for vacant custodial positions.
• Develop diversity, equity, and inclusivity lens, and create welcoming and affirming environments for all Operations and Maintenance employees and stakeholders.
