Job summary

Marion Independent School District is seeking a Food Service Delivery/District Courier Driver to support daily delivery and retrieval of food supplies, equipment, and other items to schools within the district. Hours are typically 6:00 am to 1:00 pm during the school year.

The role reports to the Director of Operations and requires a current driver’s license, a clean driving record, the ability to operate a delivery truck, and successful background check completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to drive a delivery truck.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up the food truck at a designated/assigned location.
• Help in unloading/loading food supplies to schools.
• Load and deliver breakfast and lunch items to schools.
• Pick up and deliver trays and pans back to VMS and MHS (or appropriate locations).
• Process recycling.
• Keep assigned vehicle fueled, clean and properly equipped.
• Deliver any other items to the schools as needed per director or custodial.
• Obey all traffic laws.
• Report accidents and complete required reports.
• Help maintain the standards of health and safety with staff and students.
• Dress in appropriate attire for the job and weather.
• Demonstrate organization and professionalism in responsibilities.
• Maintain a positive rapport with all staff, students, parents, and community.
• Maintain confidentiality in the school program.
• Always be willing to be flexible.
• Deliver/process interoffice mail.
• Pick up gate cash and deliver to the appropriate location.
• Take deposits to the bank; return deposit bags to the appropriate location.
• Substitute preparing or serving in food service kitchens as needed.
• Possess strong management skills.
