Job summary

Maschio's Food Services, Inc. is seeking a School District Chef to provide culinary leadership across K-12 operations in the North Plainfield area. You will train teams, lead Chef Days and promotions, and support USDA-compliant menu development while ensuring safe, high-quality meals for students.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on culinary expertise, strong leadership, and a passion for developing people, with a focus on elevating the student dining experience and menu innovation.

Qualifications

3-5 years of culinary/foodservice experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
Culinary training or professional culinary experience.
K-12 or institutional foodservice experience preferred.
ServSafe certification preferred.
Knowledge of USDA school meal programs and nutrition standards preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide culinary leadership and support across K-12 school foodservice operations.
Train and mentor foodservice teams; lead Chef Days and culinary promotions.
Support USDA-compliant menu development and innovative, student-focused concepts.
Monitor food quality and safety and ensure excellence in menu execution.
