The Accountant handles general ledger accounting, reconciliations, cash receipts, accounts receivable, grant accounting, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 3 years accounting experience preferred.
• GAAP knowledge, municipal or school district accounting preferred.
• Ability to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, financial reports, variance analyses.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate financial calculations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, accounting software and related technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records for the district.
• Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Process cash receipts and accounts receivable; manage grant accounting.
• Prepare financial reports and perform month-end and year-end closing.
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with district, state, federal, grant, and accounting requirements.
