Job summary

Hudson School District is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate and complete financial records. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accountant performs general ledger accounting, reconciliations, cash receipts, accounts receivable, grant accounting, financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, and audit support.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of accounting/auditing experience, with GAAP knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, with three years of accounting or auditing experience preferred.
• GAAP knowledge, preferably including municipal or school district accounting.
• Ability to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate financial and statistical calculations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, financial/accounting software, and related technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting and month-end/year-end closing.
• Perform reconciliations, cash receipts, and accounts receivable.
• Handle grant accounting and financial reporting.
• Provide audit support and ensure compliance with district, state, federal and grant requirements.
• Maintain proper supporting documentation.
