Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Department of Rehabilitation Services, seeks a Food Service Manager for the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur. The role oversees the daily operation of the school’s food service, plans and coordinates meal preparation, menu planning, and compliance with nutrition and safety standards, serving three meals daily to students.

You will supervise two shifts, manage purchasing and inventory, prepare lunch reports for free meal programs, and participate in staff meetings.

Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of an associate’s degree in culinary arts, food management or a similar field and two years of supervisory experience.
Note: There is no substitution allowed for the required two years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge of food service budgeting, inventory and safety standards is expected.

Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates or directs purchasing, food planning, preparation and serving, inventory, cleaning and maintenance of sanitary standards in the preparation areas, kitchen, serving and dining areas of the department.
Prepares work schedules for employees and patients.
Reviews menus and plans projected menus and interprets recipes and portion control in accordance with policy.
Maintains records and prepares required reports.
Analyzes food costs and assists with departmental budgeting.
